Smart City, Kochi project is delayed

Smart City, Kerala, the Rs. 1500 crore project that is supposed to transform Keral into an IT hub is getting delayed due to political reasons. Mr. P.K. Kunhalikutty, the former industry minister who is also the brain behind this project, blame the COmminist Party of India (Marxist) CPI-M for the delay in project.

The former minister is of the view that the members f the communist party are more concerned about the ownership of land and less concerned about the development of the state. Once this project is over, scores of IT companies will be attracted towards the state and it will boost the economy of Kerala. Many unemployed youths will get jobs. Unless an IT infrastructure can be developed, we cannot attract the companies for setting up offices in Kerala.

This project is going to be a milestone in the industrial development of Kerala.
The foundation of the Smart City project was laid in 2007 and till now it is hanging in balance due to the land disputes. The former industry minister of Kerala has invited all in support of the Smart City, Kochi project for the larger interest of the state. He has called upon everyone to focus on the real issues instead of concentrating on the minor issues.
