Delhi-based premium hotel chain Lemon Tree Hotels plans to tap the potentiality of setting up four star category hotels in northern, western and southern cities of India. It has plans to set up at least 20 four-star category hotels. It also hopes to make these units operational in the next two years.
Apart from operating the four-star Lemon Tree the company also operates thhttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gife economy-class Red Fox hotels. The company opened its 14th Lemon Tree hotel in Hyderabad which is the first in this southern city. An investment of Rs 205 crore was made to build this hotel which has 267 rooms. Its sister brand Red Fox Hotel is also housed within this hotel complex. At present the hotel chain has hotels in 11 cities that include Mumbai, Chandigarh, Delhi, Gurgaon, Ahmedabad, Aurangabad, Bangalore and Kumarakom. Some of its hotels have 1500 rooms. Now the
infrastructure company plans to increase this capacity to 2,800 rooms. This will be done in the 20 hotels that are coming up in the next two years in 15 cities.
Mr. Patu Keswani the CMD of Lemon Tree Hotels said that since cities located in the north, west and south are expected to grow at 12 percent the company will focus on these areas till 2016 and thereafter will move east from 2017 onwards.
