How to maintain the Home Owner’s Association

The Home Owner’s association is a group formed within a community of home owner’s with the help of which, issues relating to various problems of the neighbourhood households are solved. The Home Owner’s Association is somewhat similar to insurance schemes whereby the risks attached to one particular household are shared by the entire community of dwellers. Problems may be of a variety of types. Theft, water supplies, electricity and other moral hazard problems are generally the topics discussed in these associations. The maintenance of the Home Owner’s Association can be a difficult task if not planned out accordingly.

For the smooth functioning of any association, funds are of prime importance. Thus the decision to establish a central funding system using which the projects of the association are carried out will be the first step towards proper maintenance of the Home Owner’s Association. Meetings which are to be carried out on a weekly basis or twice a month to help the members of the association to assess the variety of problems which might be plaguing the neighbourhood. Responsibility of the members of the association to uplift and safeguard the residents of the colony also help in the proper establishment of the association.
