Decent Flats Only For CrorePatis?

If you have an old flat in Mumbai, Delhi or Pune you may rejoice if you are planning to sell it. You can expect not lakhs but crores. However, if you are looking to buy a “decent” 3 or 4 BHK apartment in any of these cities, it is woe unless you have crores in the kitty.

A relatively modest 4 BHK Mumbai flat having a carpet area of only 2770 sq. ft fetched its owner a whopping Rs. 10 crore. Located on the Senapati Bapat Marg in Worli, the apartment boasts a spectacular seaview and Mahalaxmi Racecourse. It is on the 33rd floor of a housing tower that is still under construction. Even though located in one of the prime location, price does make one blink.

Move on to Pune and you would have to tote a bag full of Rs. 1.6 crores if you want a “decent 3 BHK unit with two car parks. That is what a property located in Sobha Garnet off NIBM Road, Pune, went for. The area? A mere 2030 sq. ft. For this money you could buy a farm somewhere.

Outrageous property prices are not restricted to these two metros. We have news that a duplex apartment in Asiad Village, near the Siri Fort Sports Complex in South Delhi measuring only 189 sq. ft, went for a staggering Rs. 5.05 crores. It is a 3 BHK duplex with a courtyard and a garage in the famed Asiad Village complex built by DDA in 1992 and opened for public sale in 1986. It is aesthetic, is in a posh area and has everything going for it but Rs. 5.05 crores?
