Haryana comes up with new guidelines for flat registration

Now people going in for flat registration in Haryana would have to follow the new guidelines as set forth. These new guidelines will cover registration of all independent floors located in areas under municipal corporations, councils and committees of Haryana.

Mr. Mahender Pratap Singh who is the urban local bodies’ minister said that independent floor registration would now be permitted to properties that are approved and adopted by the state government which are located in the above mentioned areas. Moreover, such registration would only be allowed to properties which have access from a street or road that is at least 20 feet wide.

A designated independent floor has been described as a separate and independent housing unit on each floor of a building built as per the provisions of Haryana Municipal Corporation Act, 1994, Haryana Municipal Act, 1973, Haryana Improvement Trust Act, 2008 and other regulations, rules, bye-laws etc which have been framed under these Acts. A separate identification number will be issued against each independent floor along with a title to the owner. The title will describe the owner’s rights as per applicable law and rules. Separate utility connections that conform to power utility rules and regulations of the building can be availed by the owner of each independent floor. There would be common areas like the basement which can be used jointly to serve common interests.
